Arriving in the Loire Valley you’ll start your day visiting the Château de Chenonceau. One of the most elegant of Renaissance castles the Château des Dames (Ladies' Castle) is a bridge built across the Cher and is famous for the great feminine figures who lived in and built it (Diane de Poitiers Catherine de Medici). Known for the romantic beauty of its Renaissance gardens you’ll have time to wander take photos and take in the gorgeous setting.

The Loire Valley is home to some of France's most beloved wines. You'll enjoy a simple but delicious lunch with a specialist in mature Loire Valley vintages.  Welcoming you in his dwelling made of former tuff stone quarries the oenologist will give you a tour followed by a tasting of local wines – Vouvray Montlouis Chinon Bourgueil and Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil. Make your meal even more special you'll learn how to pair your wines with a selection of fine meats and cheeses (cheeses selected by Cheese Refiners World Champion Rodolphe Le Meunier.

After lunch you'll tour the Royal Castle of Amboise once the residence of Charles VIII and young François d’Angoulême the future King Francois I. You'll discover that this wonderful castle is a perfect representation of the transition from Gothic to Renaissance architecture. And speaking of the Renaissance you'll have time to visit the small and simple Saint Hubert Chapel where lay the remains of the quintessential Renaissance Man Leonardo Da Vinci.

From there it’s off to Da Vinci’s Manor du Clos Lucé a few yards away from the Royal Castle. Da Vinci spent the last three years of his life and died there in 1519.
