A village is to be found on top of the hill of Montmartre crowned by the white Sacred Heart Basilica so familiar to Parisians. Towards the end of the 19th century, numerous artists (Van Gogh, Renoir, Picasso ) settled here with their families to enjoy the simple and peaceful country life. The Louvre museum is one of the richest in the world. It is impossible to visit it all in a short time, but a guided visit will show you the highlights.
